To sustain the implementation of LVE in Indonesia, Karuna Bali held a Living Values Education Train-the-Trainer Workshop (TTT) to certify the new LVE trainers and reactivate the certification of inactive trainers. The TTT was taken place in Wisma GG House, Kampung Cibogo, Bogor, West Java on 15 – 19 July 2019. There were 12 people participated in this event including 8 trainer candidates and 4 facilitators. Taka Gani, lead the 5-day workshop in collaboration with the Co-trainers; Philip Yusenda, Rani Dewi and Ziaulhaq.
The workshop aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of the trainers on delivering the Train-the-Educator Workshop (TTE) also known as LVE for Educators Workshop. It also intends to increase the understanding of LVE Approach, ALIVE regulation, and Guidelines for the Associate and Focal points.
During the 5 consecutive days or equal with 30 hours courses, the facilitators allowed participants to learn about the LVE history, core assumption, philosophy and method, at the same time to practice the facilitating skills. The participants also learned that different facilitating techniques from different facilitators is inevitable and at the same time is acceptable. The important thing is that they all refer to the same standard material; the LVE Training Guide also known as the Green Book.
To deepen the understanding of TTT content materials, the additional 10-hour Sarasehan was provided as a supplementary session to explore various issues of LVE such as the standard contents and materials, problem and solution on implementing LVE, and how to receive potential support from the Associate. Daily review was also conducted to ensure the interconnectedness of all sessions.
The Associate needs to ensure the regular communication and continual assistance for and among the trainers to grow together. A safe space to share information, to co-facilitate, and to conduct peer review should be built based on the mutual understanding and continual cooperation.
